門闥（下他達反漢書集注云闥謂小門也說文從門達聲門字說文從二戶也）。

Outer and inner gates (門闥) (The second [character] has the fanqie tā + dá [tà]. The Collected Commentaries on the Hanshu states: 'Tà refers to a small gate.' The Shuowen states: 'It derives from gate (門) with the phonetic dá (達).' The character gate (門) in the Shuowen derives from two door-leaves (戶)).
