哽噎（上加杏反說文曰食肉有骨噎在喉內悲憂噎塞者故借為喻言）。

Choke and stifle (哽噎: the first character has the fanqie 加 + 杏. The Shuowen jiezi says: "A bone choking inside the throat when eating meat; choking and blockage due to sorrow and grief." Hence it is borrowed here as a metaphor).
