陿劣（上咸甲反顧野王曰陿迫隘下廣大也說文曰從阝匚夾聲也經文從犬作狹乃習犬馬也非經意下戀惙反考聲云弱也少力也會意字也古文作乎阝音𨸏匚音方夾音田）。

Narrow and inferior (陿劣: the first character has the fanqie 咸 + 甲. Gu Yewang says: "Xia means cramped and narrow; the opposite of vast and great." The Shuowen jiezi says: "From the hill radical [阝] and 匚, with 夾 as phonetic." The sūtra text writes it with the dog radical as 狹, which means training dogs and horses, not the sūtra's intended meaning. The second character has the fanqie 戀 + 惙. The Kaosheng says: "Weak; lacking strength." An associative compound. The ancient script writes it as 乎. The radical 阝 is pronounced fu [𨸏]; 匚 is pronounced fang [方]; 夾 is pronounced tian [田]).
