搓縷（上士何反切韻云手搓物也字書搓挼也挼奴禾反從手差聲經文作縒非也下力主反切韻絲縷也亦線也）。

搓縷 (The first character has the fanqie *shi* + *he* [cuo]. The *Qieyun* states: "To rub something with the hands." A character dictionary states: "*Cuo* means to rub and knead (*ruo*)." *Ruo* has the sound *nu* + *he* [nuo]; it takes the 'hand' radical and has *cha* 差 as its phonetic. The sūtra text writes 縒, which is incorrect. The second character has the fanqie *li* + *zhu* [lü]. The *Qieyun* states: "Silk threads; also thread.")
