洲渚（上職流反下章與反尒雅水中可居者曰洲小洲曰渚小渚曰沚又作陼釋名云渚遮也所以遮水迴流也）。

洲渚 (The upper character has the fanqie 職流 [zh- + -(l)ju = zhōu]. The lower character has the fanqie 章與 [zh- + -(y)o = zhǔ]. The Erya says: 'An area in the water that can be inhabited is called a zhōu; a small islet is called a zhǔ; an even smaller islet is called a zhǐ.' It is also written as 陼. The Shiming says: '渚 means 遮 [zhē, to obstruct], that which obstructs the water from flowing backwards').
