坼開（上恥革反考聲云坼亦開也又裂也古今正字作捇從手赤聲古文作牌音同上下正體門字也說文從門幵聲也二戶為門二干為幵幵音牽）。

Cleaving open (坼開: the first [character] is *che*, fanqie 恥革. The Kaosheng says: '坼 also means to open; also, to split.' The Gujin zhengzi writes it as 捇, derived from the hand radical 手 with 赤 as phonetic. Ancient script writes it as 牌, with the same sound. The second [character] is the standard form of the character 門. The Shuowen jiezi says it is derived from 門 with 幵 as phonetic; two leaves form a gate (門), and two 干 form 幵; 幵 is pronounced *qian*).
