竅隙（上企曜反鄭注禮記竅孔也說文空也從穴敫聲也敫音羊灼反下鄉逆廣雅云隙裂也顧野王云隙穿穴也說文壁孔也從阜白上下小也）。

Hole and fissure (竅隙: the first character has the fanqie *q- / y-*, Zheng's commentary on the Liji says: "Qiao (竅) is a hole"; the Shuowen says: "An opening; derived from xue 穴 with jiao 敫 as phonetic; jiao 敫 has the fanqie *y- / zh-*"; the second character has the fanqie *x- / n-*, the Guangya says: "Xi (隙) is a crack"; Gu Yewang says: "A fissure or bored hole"; the Shuowen says: "A hole in a wall; derived from fu 阜, with bai 白 above and xiao 小 below").
