旱澇（上胡笴反笴各旱反切韻云雨少也說文云從日從干下郎到反玉篇水澇也切韻淹也或作潦又音老泊水也非此用）。

旱澇 [Drought and flooding]: The upper [character] has the fanqie 胡笴 (hú + gè = hàn), where 笴 is 各旱 (gè + hàn = gàn); the Qieyun says, “Scarcity of rain; the Shuowen says it derives from 日 and 干.” The lower [character] has the fanqie 郎到 (láng + dào = lào); the Yupian says, “Water inundation.” The Qieyun says, “Flooded.” It is also written 潦, with the sound 老 (lǎo), meaning standing water, which is not used here.
