沮壞（上情與反左傳云沮亦壞也說文云從水且聲且音子魚反下懷恠反考聲云崩摧也敗也古今正字云自破曰壞從土褱聲也褱音懷包也說文云懷字從衣𥄳音談合反𥄳上從橫目下從氺音別經文作壞傳寫人誤書也）。

沮壞 (The upper character is pronounced with the fanqie qing + yu. The Zuo zhuan says: "沮 also means ruined [壞]." The Shuowen says: "Classified under 'water' [水], with 且 as phonetic." 且 is pronounced with the fanqie zi + yu. The lower character is pronounced with the fanqie huai + guai. The Kaosheng says: "Collapsed and destroyed; ruined." The Gujin zhengzi says: "Spontaneous destruction is called 壞. Classified under 'earth' [土], with 褱 as phonetic." 褱 is pronounced huai, meaning to envelop. The Shuowen says: "The character 懷 is classified under 'clothing' [衣] with 𥄳." 𥄳 is pronounced with the fanqie tan + he. The top of 𥄳 is classified under a horizontal 目, and the bottom under 氺, pronounced bie. The sūtra text has it written as 壞, which is an error made by copyists).
