牽拋（上苦堅反切韻引也挽也考聲云進也說文云從冖牛玄聲也冖葵營反作牽非下疋皃反字書云拋車所以飛塼石者也又音普包反今不取也）。

牽拋 (The first character has the fanqie 苦堅 [qiān]. The Qieyun states: 'To lead; to pull.' The Kaosheng states: 'To advance.' The Shuowen states: 'Derived from 冖 and 牛 with 玄 as phonetic; 冖 has the fanqie 葵營 [qióng].' Writing it as 牽 is incorrect. The second character has the fanqie 疋皃 [pāo]. The Zishu states: 'A catapult engine, used to hurl bricks and stones.' It also has the sound 普包 [pāo], which is not adopted here.).
