妊胎（上汝朕反又如林反說文云孕也切韻身妊也從女上聲也律文作姙俗字下湯來反考聲云胞胎孕也爾雅云胎始也郭注云肧胎未成亦物之始也）。

妊胎 (The first character has the fanqie 汝朕 [rèn], or 如林 [rén]. The Shuowen states: 'Pregnant.' The Qieyun states: 'To bear a child in the body; derived from 女 with 上 as phonetic.' In the Vinaya text it is written as the popular character 姙. The second character has the fanqie 湯來 [tāi]. The Kaosheng states: 'Womb and fetus; pregnancy.' The Erya states: '胎 means beginning.' Guo's commentary states: 'An unformed embryo is also the beginning of things.').
