斤斲（上舉忻反說文云斫木也象斤之形切韻十六兩也下竹角反集訓云削也說文云斲亦斫也從斤𠁁聲字書作[畫*(乳-孚+(看-目))]音訓同或作𣃆𧯞二形皆非本字）。

斤斲 (The upper character is 舉 + 忻 with fanqie. The Shuowen says: 'To chop wood; depicting the shape of an axe.' The Qieyun says: 'Sixteen ounces.' The lower character is 竹 + 角 with fanqie. The Jixun says: 'To pare and shave.' The Shuowen says: '斲 also means to chop; formed with 斤 ("axe") and 𠁁 phonetically.' The Zishu writes it as [畫*(乳-孚+(看-目))], with the same pronunciation and meaning. Some write it in the two forms 𣃆 or 𧯞, neither of which is the original character).
