旭上（上許玉反切韻云早朝也說文云旦日出皃又明也從日九聲下時掌反說文云登也古文作上字又作尚二音同上）。

旭上 (Rising in the morning sun: for the first character, fanqie 許玉 [xù], the Qieyun says: 'Early morning.' The Shuowen says: 'The sun rising at daybreak; also brightness.' It is formed from 日 [sun] with 九 phonetic. For the second character, fanqie 時掌 [shǎng], the Shuowen says: 'To ascend.' The ancient script writes 上, and also 尚; both pronunciations are as above.)
