【阿僧伽】《西域記》：「唐言無著，是初地菩薩，天親之兄。佛滅千年，從彌沙塞部出家。」三藏傳云：「夜升覩史陀天，於慈氏所，受《瑜伽師地論》、《莊嚴大乘論》、《中邊分別論》；晝則下天，為眾說法。」

【Asaṅga】 The *Records of the Western Regions* says: "In the Tang language, it is Unattached (Wuzhuo). He is a bodhisattva of the First Stage, and the elder brother of Vasubandhu. One thousand years after the Buddha's parinirvāṇa, he went forth under the Mahīśāsaka school." The *Biography of the Tripiṭaka Master* states: "By night he ascended to the Tuṣita Heaven and received from Maitreya the *Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra*, the *Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkāra*, and the *Madhyāntavibhāga*; by day he descended from heaven to expound the Dharma to the assembly."
