[Vararuci] The Record of the Western Regions says: "In the language of Tang, it is rendered Xian'ai ('Virtuous Love'). A native of Western India, he had a marvelous mastery of hetuvidyā; he crushed an extremely arrogant brāhmaṇa, who sank alive into hell."
