【康僧會】康居國大丞相之長子。世居印度，年未齒學，俱喪二親。至性篤孝，服畢入道。厲行清高，弘雅有量。解通三藏，慧貫五明。辯於樞機，頗屬文翰。以吳初染佛法，大化未全，欲使江左興立圖寺。赤烏四年，仗錫建康，楊都譯經。

【Kang Senghui】The eldest son of the Prime Minister of Sogdiana. His family had resided in India for generations. Before he reached the age of study, he lost both parents. By nature deeply filial, when the mourning was complete, he entered the path. He maintained high and pure conduct, being magnanimous, elegant, and accommodating. His comprehension encompassed the three pitakas, and his wisdom penetrated the five sciences. Eloquent in statecraft, he was quite adept in literary composition. Considering that the Wu region was only newly exposed to the Buddha’s Dharma and great transformation was not yet complete, he wished to establish stupas and monasteries south of the Yangtze. In the fourth year of Chiwu, carrying his staff he arrived in Jiankang, translating scriptures in the capital of Yang.
