【忉利】應法師云：「梵音訛略，正言多羅夜登陵舍。此云三十三。」《俱舍》頌云：「妙高頂八萬，三十三天居。四角有四峯，金剛手所住，中宮名善現，周萬踰繕那。高一半金城，中有殊勝殿，周千踰繕那。」

【Trāyastriṃśa】 Dharma Master Ying says: "The Sanskrit sound is corrupted and abbreviated; correctly it should be Trāyastriṃśa. Here it means thirty-three." A verse in the *Abhidharmakośa* says: "At the summit of the Wondrously High, eighty thousand [yojanas across], dwell the Thirty-Three Gods. / At the four corners are four peaks, where the Vajrapāṇis reside. / The central palace is named Good Sight (Sudarśana), ten thousand yojanas around. / Its golden walls are half as high, and within is the Hall of Surpassing Excellence, / one thousand yojanas around."
