【罽賓】此云賤種。《西域記》云：「迦濕彌羅，舊曰罽賓，訛也。北印度境。末田底迦既得其地，立五百伽藍，於諸異國，買鬻賤人以充役使，用供眾僧。末田底迦入寂滅後，彼諸賤人自立君長，隣境諸國，鄙其賤種，莫與交親，謂之訖利多。唐言買得。」

[Jibin] Here it is translated as Low Caste. The *Xiyu ji* says: “Kāśmīra, formerly called Jibin, is erroneous. It is in the territory of Northern India. After Madhyāntika obtained that land, he established five hundred monasteries, bought low-caste people from various foreign countries to fill menial service and provide for the saṅgha. After Madhyāntika entered cessation, those low-caste people set up their own chiefs. The neighboring countries despised their low caste and would not associate or form marriage alliances with them, calling them Kṛtya. In the language of the Tang this means 'Purchased'.”
