【僧伽羅】《西域記》：「唐言執師子，非印度境，是南海路。其祖擒執師子，父殺應王慕，王畏暴逆，重賞遠放，船漂寶渚，遂立此國。」

[Siṃhala] The *Xiyu ji* says: “In the language of the Tang it is called Seizer of Lions. It is not within the borders of India, but is on the Southern Sea route. Its ancestor captured and seized a lion; his son killed it and came to the king's admiration, but the king, fearing his violent rebellion, gave him a heavy reward and banished him far away. His boat drifted to a jewel island, where he then established this country.”
