【達嚫】尊婆須密論作檀嚫，此云財施。解言報施之法，名曰達嚫，導引福地，亦名達嚫。字或從手。《西域記》「正云達嚫拏者，右也。或云馱器尼，以用右手受人所施，為其生福故。」肇云：「夫以方會人，不可以一息期；以財濟物，不可以一時周。是以會通無隅者，彌綸而不漏；法澤冥被者，不易而普覆。」

[Dakṣiṇā] In the treatise of the Venerable Vasumitra it is written as dānadakṣiṇā (檀嚫); here it is translated as "material giving" (財施). It is explained as the Dharma of reciprocating giving, which is named dakṣiṇā; guiding toward the field of merit is also called dakṣiṇā. The character is sometimes written with the hand radical (攩). The Record of the Western Regions states: "The correct term is dakṣiṇā, which means right. It is also called dākṣiṇī. Because one receives what is given by others using the right hand in order to generate merit for them." Sengzhao said: "Meeting people by means of a specific method cannot be completed in a single breath; aiding beings with material gifts cannot be exhaustive at a single time. Therefore, one who penetrates comprehensively without boundaries weaves everything together without omission; one whose rain of the Dharma covers beings invisibly spreads everywhere without changing."
