4.65

惑業互資，因緣交助，三世猶若環旋，六道喻如輪轉。凡夫沈迷，色心氷執；聖人超悟，生死霜融。剪荊棘林，五因頓息，斷牽連索，七果咸亡。故此十二支法，為中乘之達觀也。

Delusion and karma mutually reinforce each other, and causes and conditions assist one another; the three times revolve like an endless ring, and the six destinies are likened to a turning wheel. Ordinary people are sunk in confusion, their forms and minds frozen in solid attachment; sages transcend in awakening, birth and death melting away like frost. Clearing the forest of thorns, the five causes instantly cease; snapping the entangled ropes, the seven fruits are entirely destroyed. Therefore, this teaching of the twelve links is the penetrating contemplation of the intermediate vehicle.
