【招提】《經音義》云：「梵云招鬪提奢，唐言四方僧物。但筆者訛稱招提，此翻別房施。」或云對面施，或云梵言僧鬘，此翻對面施。《音義》云：「體境交現曰對，輟己慧他名施。」後魏太武始光元年，造伽藍，創立招提之名。

【Cāturdiśa】 The *Jing yinyi* states: "The Sanskrit is *cāturdiśa*, which means in the Tang language 'property of the saṅgha of the four directions'. But scribes erroneously called it *zhaoti*, which is translated here as 'offerings to separate rooms'." Some say it means "direct face-to-face offering"; or that the Sanskrit word is *saṅghamālā*, translated here as "face-to-face offering". The *Yinyi* states: "When substance and object appear together, it is called 'facing'; relinquishing one's own to bestow on others is called 'offering'." In the first year of the Shiguang era of Emperor Taiwu of the Northern Wei, when a saṅghārāma was built, the name *zhaoti* was first established.
