[Cūḍa] Also called Cūḍapanthaka; this translates as Born by the Main Road. The Fo benxing jing says: 'His mother was the daughter of an elder who followed her husband to another country, and after a long time became pregnant. As childbirth approached, she yearned to return home, and when she reached midway on the journey, she gave birth to her son. This occurred twice, giving birth to two sons in all, who were then distinguished as elder and younger: the elder was Cūḍa, and the younger was Panthaka.'
