*Samyaksambuddha*, also called *sānyēsānpú*, is in Qin words 'Correct and Complete Knower' (正遍知). The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa says: 'These words mean correctly and completely knowing all dharmas. Master [Kumāra]jīva said it means Correct and Complete Awakened One. Because dharmas are without error, he says "correct"; because wisdom is all-pervading, he says "complete"; because he awakens from the dream of birth and death, he says "awakened".' The Miaozong [zhang] says: 'These three epithets evoke the three virtues. Now, looking at what is contemplated, their meaning corresponds to the three truths: Correct and Complete Knower is prajñā, the truth of emptiness; Worthy of Offerings is liberation, the conventional truth; Thus-Come is the dharmakāya, the truth of the middle. Therefore the Vimalakīrti [Sūtra] says: "Ānanda! If I were to explain the meaning of these three phrases at length, you could not fully receive it even in a kalpa's lifetime."'
