[Niṣṭhā]: In the language of Qin, it means "certainty." The "ḍha"-syllable door in the Pañcaviṃśati: entering through the fact that the ultimate limits of all dharmas do not end and are not born, and beyond "ḍha" there are no syllables that can be spoken. The Śāstra states: "That is, knowing that all dharmas are definitely ungraspable." When the Avataṃsaka chants the "dha"-syllable, it is called "the distinct treasury of all wheels of Dharma." The commentary says: "This ultimately contains all wheels of Dharma. In the new translation, it is the 'ḍha'-syllable." The Pañcaviṃśati says: "A single syllable enters into the forty-two syllables, and the forty-two syllables also enter into a single syllable." Great Master Nanyue used them to represent the forty-two stages: the initial "a"-syllable door represents the initial abode; the final "ḍha"-syllable door represents wondrous enlightenment. Therefore it is said: beyond "ḍha" there is nothing that can be spoken; syllables being attached to by the mundane world are called "dharmas"; that which all sages rely on is called a "door."
