7.33

勇伏定記曰。元康元年四月九日。燉煌菩薩支法護。手執胡經口出首楞嚴三昧。聶承遠筆受。願令四輩攬綜奉宣觀異同意。

The Record of the Valiant and Subjugating Concentration states: On the ninth day of the fourth month in the first year of Yuankang [291 CE], the Dunhuang bodhisattva Zhi Dharmarakṣa held the Hu sūtra in hand and orally produced the *Śūraṅgama-samādhi*. Nie Chengyuan was the scribal recorder. He wished to enable the four assemblies to comprehend, hold fast to, and proclaim it, and to observe the differences and identical meanings.
