經後記云。沙門曇法護。於京師遇西國寂志從出此經。經後尚有數品。其人忘失。輒宣現者轉之為晉。更得其本補令具足。太康十年四月八日。白馬寺中。聶道真對筆受。勸助劉元謀傅公信侯彥長等。

The postface of the sūtra states: 'The śramaṇa Dharmarakṣa met in the capital a recluse from the Western Regions, from whom he produced this sūtra. There were originally several more chapters at the end of the sūtra, but that person had forgotten them; Dharmarakṣa immediately proclaimed what was present and translated it into Chinese (Jin), intending to complete it when he later obtained the original text. On the eighth day of the fourth month in the tenth year of the Taikang era, in Baima Temple, Nie Daozhen served as the scribal recorder facing him, with Liu Yuanmou, Fu Gongxin, Hou Yanchang, and others assisting and encouraging.'
