The preface to this scripture states: 'That man forgot the one chapter on Conditioned Arising, and so the text was missing.' Recently, the śramaṇa Dharmapriya came from Kapiśa carrying the scripture from Michuan, and Saṅghadeva translated it; the text of this chapter and the eight skandhas was thereby completed. Dharmapriya, however, said: 'The eight skandhas are merely the body; separately there are the six feet (ṣaḍ-abhidharma-pāda), which amount to a million words.' Dharmapriya could recite two feet, but now there was no translator to produce them, which was a source of deep regret. Recorded on the nineteenth day of the first month of the fifteenth year of Taiyuan, at the Pagoda of Waguan Temple in Yangzhou.
