On the twenty-eighth day of the eighth month in the first year of Yongxi [290 CE], the monk Kang Nalu completed copying the chapters of the Zheng fahua [jing] in Luoyang. At that time, together with the upāsakas of pure precepts and upright discipline Zhang Jibo, Dong Jingxuan, Liu Changwu, [Liu] Changwen, and others, holding the scripture manuscripts in hand, he went to the Baima Rongdui [monastery] to Dharmarakṣa, orally collated the ancient glosses, and expounded the deep meanings. On the fourteenth day of the fast of the ninth month, during a grand dāna gathering at the Dongniu Monastery, this sūtra was recited and expounded. Throughout the entire day and night, none failed to rejoice. It was thus collated and finalized once again.
