尋群錄闕本其類繁多。試以現經挍閱定錄。居然顯異。今欲列名廣示。且已備在前篇。紙墨易繁終為詞費。故略而不敘。必搜訪獲本真偽莫分。或人代未明。可依錄撿歷。則名目顯然是非斯決。故不勞備載。又隨代後錄皆連寫之。又可易見。

Examining the various catalogues, the classes of missing texts are exceedingly numerous. If one tries collating and checking against the currently extant sūtras to establish the catalogue, the divergences are obvious. If I wished now to list their titles and display them extensively, they have already been fully presented in the preceding fascicles. Multiplying paper and ink would ultimately be a waste of words; hence I have omitted them here without treating them in detail. If in the future someone searches and obtains a text whose authenticity cannot be determined or whose translator and dynasty are unclear, they can consult and verify it according to the catalogue: the titles will be evident and right or wrong will be resolved, so there is no need to record them in full here. Moreover, they have been transcribed continuously in the subsequent records of each dynasty, making them easy to see.
