Da Sui zhongjing mulu (Catalogue of Various Scriptures of the Great Sui), seven fascicles (compiled by the twenty venerable masters including the śramaṇa Fajing of the Translation Bureau by imperial order in the fourteenth year of Kaihuang):
Based on examination: The catalogue is arranged into nine rubrics, differentiating categories into forty-two divisions. The first six divisions briefly indicate the distinction between the Greater and Lesser [Vehicles] across the Tripiṭaka of sūtras and vinayas, roughly clarifying the categories of accuracy and inaccuracy, authentic and apocryphal among transmissions and translations. The last three catalogues are all collections, biographies, records, and commentaries. These were composed by monastics and laypeople, and though they were not composed in the Western Regions, they all illuminate and praise the authentic scriptures, elucidate the teaching, and guide future students.
The above nine catalogues total 2,257 works in 5,310 fascicles.
