The śramaṇa Fajian, also called Jian Gong, had a mind vast and universal, with a disciplined intention to benefit sentient beings. During the Taichu era of the Qifu Western Qin, he translated for Qifu Gangui in the Henan State: the Fangdeng wang xukongzang suowen jing (five fascicles), the Yandao suye jing (one fascicle), the Pusa suoshengdi jing (one fascicle), the Bo jing (one fascicle), the Xianshou jing (one fascicle), the Taizi xudana jing (one fascicle), the Tong jiaye jienan jing (one fascicle), the Shanzi jing (one fascicle), the Wuyaji chi famen jing (one fascicle), the Guanfo jing (one fascicle), the Chukong zaihuan jing (one fascicle), the Qinü ben jing (one fascicle), the Furen yugu jing (one fascicle), and the A'nan wenshi fo jixiong jing (one fascicle); in total, fourteen works comprising eighteen fascicles. As for texts such as the Xudana jing, they were translated at Xin Monastery in Jiangling, with Yu Shuang serving as scribe; the remaining ten works appear in the Shixing lu, so they were not translated solely in the Western Qin.
