Beginning with Yao Chang (posthumously titled Emperor Zhaowu), the first year of Baique, jiashen, and ending with Yao Hong (without posthumous title), the third year of Yonghe, dingsi, it spans three rulers and thirty-four years. There were five śramaṇas who produced scriptures, vinayas, treatises, and so forth: in total 94 works, amounting to 624 fascicles (among them, 66 works in 528 fascicles are extant, and 28 works in 96 fascicles are lost. According to the Epilogue to the Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa, it states that in the third year of Hongshi, the year being xinchou—Wang Daogui says gengzi, and another edition also says the year was xinchou—Fei Changfang and Zhen Luan differed by yet another year; now, following the Epilogue as correct, they are arranged in order).
