皇后施納袈裟一領妙勝前者并時服玩百有餘件。五日有　勅令報法師。皇后分難已訖。端正奇特神光滿院自庭燭天。朕歡喜無己內外舞躍。必不違所許。願法師護念。遂號為佛光王。當受三歸被袈裟服。十二月五日滿月　勅為佛光王度七人。仍請法師為王剃髮。其佛光王即。

the Empress presented a patchwork kāṣāya, exquisitely surpassing the previous one, along with more than one hundred seasonal garments and precious curiosities. On the fifth day, an imperial decree instructed that the Dharma Master be informed: "The Empress has completed delivery; the newborn child is dignified and extraordinary, and a divine light filled the courtyard, shining from the courtyard up into the heavens. Our joy is boundless, and rejoicing spreads within and without the palace. We shall certainly not go back on what was promised; we pray that the Dharma Master will protect and be mindful of him." He was thereupon titled Prince Foguang (Prince of Buddha-Light), who then received the Three Refuges and donned the monastic kāṣāya robes. On the fifth day of the twelfth month, when the full month was completed, an imperial decree ordered that seven people be ordained on behalf of Prince Foguang, and further requested that the Dharma Master tonsure the Prince.
