峨峨法岫　滔滔智田　為道之始
則人之先　名揚中國　業善南天
示曉示喻　三千大千　浮圖亞迹
摩騰比肩　真寂有境　生死無邊
釋迦示現　迦葉求緣　無來無去
何後何前　猗歟叡哲　運謝時賢
風摧道樹　浪沒慈船　層塔虛設
寶鐸空懸　柏吟宵吹　松生暮煙
人世移易　陵谷推遷　唯餘石誄
千年萬年

"Lofty is the mountain of Dharma, / Vast is the field of wisdom. / At the inception of the Path, / He served as an exemplar before men. / His fame spread across the Central Kingdom; / His deeds were exalted in the Southern Heavens. / Displaying illumination and metaphors, / Across the three thousand great thousands. / A stūpa seconding footsteps, / Shouldering alongside Mātaṅga. / True quiescence possesses its realm; / Birth and death are without bounds. / Śākyamuni showed manifestation; / Kāśyapa sought affinity. / Without coming and without going, / What is behind and what is before? / Ah, how sagacious and wise! / His fortunes departed, the worthy of his time. / Winds break down the Bodhi tree; / Waves submerge the boat of compassion. / The tiered stūpa is vainly erected; / The jewelled bells hang in empty space. / Cypresses chant in the nightly wind; / Pines give birth to evening mist. / The human realm shifts and alters; / Hills and valleys push and change. / Only the stone eulogy remains, / For a thousand years, for ten thousand years."
