What contains principle are the three lines; what can unfold them are the ten wings. If the Judgments and the Attached Verbalisations are missing, what use are the turtle patterns? How much more so with the profound principle of the One Vehicle, whose meaning diverges from its text! Without the aid of treatises and commentaries, the subtle words would have no effect. Although they burden the carriages, we hope they will assist the sacred scriptures.
