白佛言：「云何菩薩本業清淨化眾生？」佛言：「從一地乃至後一地，自所行處及佛行處，一切知見故。本業者，若菩薩住百佛國中，作閻浮四天王，修百法門，二諦平等心化一切眾生；若菩薩住千佛國中，作忉利天王，修千法門，十善道化一切眾生；若菩薩住十萬佛國中，作炎天王，修十萬法門，四禪定化一切眾生；若菩薩住百億佛國中，作兜率天王，修百億法門，行道品化一切眾生；若菩薩住千億佛國中，作化樂天王，修千億法門，二諦四諦八諦化一切眾生；若菩薩住十萬億佛國中，作他化天王，修十萬億法門，十二因緣智化一切眾生；若菩薩住百萬億佛國中，作初禪王，修百萬億法門，方便智願智化一切眾生；若菩薩住百萬微塵數佛國中，作二禪梵王，修百萬微塵數法門，雙照方便神通智化一切眾生；若菩薩住百萬億阿僧祇微塵數佛國中，作三禪大梵王，修百萬億阿僧祇微塵數法門，以四無礙智化一切眾生；若菩薩住不可說不可說佛國中，作第四禪大靜天王三界主，修不可說不可說法門，得理盡三昧，同佛行處，盡三界原，教化一切眾生，如佛境界。是故一切菩薩本業化行清淨，若十方諸如來亦修是業，登薩婆若果，作三界王，化一切無量眾生。」

[King Prasenajit] said to the Buddha: "How do bodhisattvas through pure original karma convert sentient beings?"
The Buddha said: "Because from one stage up to the subsequent stage, they have all knowledge and vision of their own sphere of practice and the sphere of practice of buddhas. As for original karma: if a bodhisattva abides in a hundred buddha lands, they act as the four heavenly kings of Jambudvīpa, cultivate a hundred dharma doors, and with an equanimous mind toward the two truths convert all sentient beings. If a bodhisattva abides in a thousand buddha lands, they act as the king of the Trāyastriṃśa Heaven, cultivate a thousand dharma doors, and with the ten paths of wholesome action convert all sentient beings. If a bodhisattva abides in a hundred thousand buddha lands, they act as the king of the Yāma Heaven, cultivate a hundred thousand dharma doors, and with the four dhyāna concentrations convert all sentient beings. If a bodhisattva abides in ten billion buddha lands, they act as the king of the Tuṣita Heaven, cultivate ten billion dharma doors, and practicing the limbs of the path convert all sentient beings. If a bodhisattva abides in a hundred billion buddha lands, they act as the king of the Nirmāṇarati Heaven, cultivate a hundred billion dharma doors, and with the two truths, four truths, and eight truths convert all sentient beings. If a bodhisattva abides in ten trillion buddha lands, they act as the king of the Paranirmitavaśavartin Heaven, cultivate ten trillion dharma doors, and with the wisdom of the twelve links of dependent origination convert all sentient beings. If a bodhisattva abides in a hundred trillion buddha lands, they act as the king of the first dhyāna, cultivate a hundred trillion dharma doors, and with expedient wisdom and the wisdom of vows convert all sentient beings. If a bodhisattva abides in buddha lands as numerous as the fine dust motes of a million worlds, they act as the Brahmā king of the second dhyāna, cultivate dharma doors as numerous as the fine dust motes of a million worlds, and with the supernormal wisdom of expedient means that dually illumines convert all sentient beings. If a bodhisattva abides in buddha lands as numerous as the fine dust motes of a hundred trillion asaṃkhyeyas of worlds, they act as the Great Brahmā king of the third dhyāna, cultivate dharma doors as numerous as the fine dust motes of a hundred trillion asaṃkhyeyas of worlds, and with the four unobstructed knowledges convert all sentient beings. If a bodhisattva abides in ineffable, ineffable buddha lands, they act as the Great Serenity Heavenly King of the fourth dhyāna, lord of the three realms, cultivate ineffable, ineffable dharma doors, attain the samādhi of the exhaustiveness of principle, share the sphere of practice of buddhas, exhaust the source of the three realms, and teach and convert all sentient beings like the realm of a buddha. Therefore, the conversion practice through original karma of all bodhisattvas is pure; if the Tathāgatas of the ten directions likewise cultivate this karma, they ascend to the fruit of sarvajñā, become kings of the three realms, and convert all immeasurable sentient beings."
