佛告大王：「汝於過去七佛已問一義二義。汝今無聽，我今無說。無聽無說，即為一義二義故。諦聽，諦聽！善思念之，如法修行。七佛偈如是：
The Buddha addressed the great king: "You already asked the past seven buddhas about the meaning of oneness and the meaning of duality. You now have nothing to hear, and I now have nothing to preach. Having nothing to hear and nothing to preach is precisely for the sake of the meaning of oneness and the meaning of duality. Listen attentively, listen attentively! Reflect upon it well, and practice in accordance with the Dharma. The gāthā of the seven buddhas is as follows:
