2.43

「大王！我今五眼明見，三世一切國王皆由過去侍五百佛，得為帝王主；是故一切聖人羅漢，而為來生彼國，作大利益。若王福盡時，一切聖人皆為捨去。若一切聖人去時，七難必起。

"Great King! I now clearly see with the five eyes that all kings of the three times, because they served five hundred buddhas in the past, have attained being sovereigns and rulers of kings. For this reason, all sages and arhats are born in their states to bring about great benefit. When a king's merit is exhausted, all sages will abandon him and depart. When all sages depart, the seven calamities will surely arise.
