2.55

爾時，大眾十八梵天王，六欲諸天子歎言：「當爾之時，世間空虛，是無佛世！」爾時，無量大眾中，百億菩薩彌勒師子月等，百億舍利弗、須菩提等，五百億十八梵王、六欲諸天，三界六道，阿須輪王等，聞佛所說護佛果因緣、護國土因緣，歡喜無量，為佛作禮，受持般若波羅蜜。

At that time, the great assembly, the eighteen Brahma kings, and the devas of the six desire heavens lamented: "At that time, the world will be desolate; that will be an age without a buddha!" Then, amid the immeasurable great assembly, the hundred billion bodhisattvas such as Maitreya and Siṃhacandra, the hundred billion disciples such as Śāriputra and Subhūti, the fifty billion eighteen Brahma kings and devas of the six desire heavens, and those of the three realms, six destinies, asura kings, and others, hearing what the Buddha spoke on the causes and conditions for protecting the buddha-fruit and the causes and conditions for protecting the state, rejoiced immeasurably, paid homage to the Buddha, and received and upheld the prajñāpāramitā.
