"Great King! Regarding the names, phrases, and sentences of this sūtra, a hundred buddhas, a thousand buddhas, hundreds of thousands of myriads of buddhas have expounded these names, phrases, and sentences. If one were to fill three-thousand great thousand worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges with immeasurable seven treasures and give them as alms to the sentient beings in those three-thousand great thousand worlds, causing them all to attain the seven worthy stages and the four fruits, it would not equal giving rise to a single thought-moment of faith in this sūtra, much less understanding a single phrase! Because a phrase is not a phrase and not a non-phrase, prajñā is not a phrase, a phrase is not prajñā, and prajñā is also not a bodhisattva. Why is this? Because the thirty generations of the ten stages are empty, initial generation, abiding generation, and final generation are unattainable, since the three generations in stage after stage are empty. Nor is it sarvajñā, nor is it the Mahāyāna, because they are empty.
