爾時，十六大國王聞說未來如是諸誡，悲啼號泣，聲動三千，天地昏闇，光明不現。時諸王等，各各至心受持佛語，不制四部出家學道，當如佛教。

At that time, the kings of the sixteen great states, hearing these admonitions concerning the future, wept and wailed, their voices shaking the trichiliocosm. Heaven and earth became dark and gloomy, and no radiance appeared. Then all the kings wholeheartedly accepted and upheld the Buddha's words, resolved not to restrict the fourfold assembly from leaving household life and training in the path, acting in accordance with the Buddha's teaching.
