At that time the Bhagavat said to King Prasenajit and the other great kings: "Listen attentively, listen attentively! I will explain the Dharma of protecting the state for you. When any state is about to fall into disorder, there will be disasters, calamities, and bandits coming to ravage and destroy it. You kings should receive, uphold, read, and recite this Prajñāpāramitā, adorn the place of practice, place one hundred Buddha images, one hundred bodhisattva images, and one hundred lion seats, and invite one hundred Dharma masters to explain this sūtra. Before each seat, light various lamps, burn various incenses, scatter various flowers, and make vast offerings of clothing, bedding, food, drink, medicines, dwellings, beds, seats, and all requisites; explain and read this sūtra twice daily. If kings, ministers, bhikṣus, bhikṣuṇīs, upāsakas, and upāsikās listen to, receive, read, recite, and cultivate it in accordance with the Dharma, the disasters and calamities will immediately be extinguished."
