"Great King! Prajñāpāramitā can bring forth all the dharmas of all Buddhas, all the dharmas of liberation of all bodhisattvas, all the unsurpassed dharmas of all kings, and all the dharmas of transcendence for all sentient beings. Just as the substance of a mani jewel possesses manifold virtues—able to subdue poisonous dragons and evil ghosts and spirits, satisfy the desires of human hearts, serve a cakravartin under the name of the wish-fulfilling jewel, cause great dragon kings such as Nanda and Upananda to shower sweet rain to moisten grasses and trees, and when placed atop a high banner in the dark of night, shine its light over heaven and earth as bright as the rising sun—this Prajñāpāramitā is also like this. You kings should make jeweled banners and canopies, burn incense, scatter flowers, and make vast offerings. Enshrine the sūtra in a jeweled casket and place it upon a jeweled table; whenever you wish to travel, always have it led before you; wherever you dwell, construct a pavilion of the seven treasures, set up a seat of diverse jewels, and place the sūtra upon it, making various offerings just as you would serve your parents, or as the devas serve Śakra.
