須菩提。於意云何。汝等勿謂如來作是念。我當度眾生。須菩提。莫作是念。何以故。實無有眾生如來度者。若有眾生如來度者。如來則有我人眾生壽者。須菩提。如來說有我者則非有我。而凡夫之人以為有我。須菩提。凡夫者如來說則非凡夫。是名凡夫。

"Subhūti, what do you think? You all must not say that the Tathāgata has this thought: 'I should deliver sentient beings.' Subhūti, do not have this thought. Why is this? In reality there are no sentient beings delivered by the Tathāgata. If there were sentient beings delivered by the Tathāgata, the Tathāgata would have a self, a person, a sentient being, and a soul. Subhūti, the Tathāgata explains that having a self is not having a self, yet ordinary persons take it that there is a self. Subhūti, what are called ordinary persons, the Tathāgata explains are not ordinary persons; these are called ordinary persons."
