此頌意密。今略釋云。佛於昔日然燈語下。不取證理。有實智故。以是理智平等離相。真實義故。成彼前說。無為之法。無得說義。

The intention of this verse is esoteric; now I briefly explain it as saying: Because the Buddha, in former days under Dīpaṅkara's words, did not grasp that in realizing the principle there is real wisdom, and because of this real meaning wherein principle and wisdom are equal and free from marks, that previously spoken meaning—that unconditioned dharmas are without attainment and without speaking—is established.
