1.55

經。聞是章句至生淨信者　贊曰。此舉劣況勝也。意說。一念生淨信者。尚於多佛。久種善根。況不取相。而為持說。當知。必有廣大功德。是故菩薩。應住欲願之心。而為攝持持說之行。故諸菩薩。應如是住。

Sūtra: “Hearing these phrases […] up to: giving rise to pure faith…”
Commentary: This is adducing the inferior to illustrate the superior. The meaning is that even those who give rise to pure faith for a single thought-moment have already long planted roots of goodness before many Buddhas; how much more so those who, without apprehending marks, uphold and explain it! You should know that they will definitely have vast and great merits. Therefore, bodhisattvas should abide in an aspiring and wishing mind to embrace the practice of upholding and explaining it. Thus, bodhisattvas should abide in this manner.
