經。若有人言至三菩提　贊曰。此佛不得菩提也。文中二答舉執遮遣。若有人言然燈佛時因行非上不得菩提。後成佛時果德殊勝。應有實法得正覺耶。故遮正云非但彼時不得菩提。後成佛時亦如因行實無所得故。前頌云菩提彼行等。

Sūtra: "If someone says: 'The Tathāgata attained... anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhi'" / Commentary: This is that the Buddha does not attain bodhi. Within the text, two answers raise attachments and refute them. If someone says that at the time of Dīpaṃkara Buddha, causal practice was not supreme and he did not attain bodhi, but later when becoming a Buddha, the fruit's virtues were marvelous and supreme, so there should be a real dharma by which he attained right awakening—therefore, refuting this, he states that not only at that time did he not attain bodhi, but later when becoming a Buddha, just as in the causal practice, there was in reality nothing attained. Hence, the preceding verse states: 'Bodhi and that practice are equal.'
