經。如來至三菩提　贊曰。此經示正義也。謂佛身者理智為體。但由發起真無相智觀證法性名得菩提。不以具足福相為因。而能證得無上正覺方便因相各差別故。論依此義而說頌云。

Sūtra: [“Do not think that the] Tathāgata [does not, by virtue of having the complete marks, attain unexcelled, perfect enlightenment.”] / Praise: This sūtra passage shows the correct meaning. It means that the Buddha's body has principle and wisdom as its essence; it is solely by giving rise to true, markless wisdom that contemplates and realizes the Dharma-nature that one is said to attain bodhi. It is not by having the complete marks of merit as the cause that one can realize unexcelled, correct awakening, because the characteristics of skillful-means causes are distinct from it. Relying on this meaning, the treatise speaks a verse, saying:
