經。須菩提菩薩至不受福德　贊曰。此為釋也。受有二種。一者無貪領受。二者貪著取受。若是無貪無漏福德。即應領受不住涅槃。若是貪著有漏福德。則應不受不住生死故令領受故。說菩薩求福資糧福勝於前。今說所作不應貪著故。說菩薩不受福德。非是總令棄捨於福故。論頌云。

Sūtra: [The Buddha said,] “Subhūti, bodhisattvas [do not greedily cling to the merit they perform; therefore it is said they] do not receive merit.” / Praise: This is the explanation. Receiving has two kinds: first, receiving without greed; second, seizing and receiving with greedy attachment. If it is uncontaminated merit without greed, one should receive it and not abide in nirvāṇa; if it is contaminated merit with greedy attachment, one should not receive it and not abide in saṃsāra. Therefore, to make them receive it, it is said that the bodhisattva seeks the merit provision and that the merit surpasses the former; now, saying that one should not greedily cling to what is performed, it is said that bodhisattvas do not receive merit. It is not that they are caused to discard merit altogether. Therefore, the treatise verse says:
